    Cad links & BIM 360

In non-cloud worksharing models, my cad links would update when I closed and opened my Revit model. I am working in a BIM 360 model with cad links. My Cad links are not updating automatically when I open and close my revit model. I manually have to go to each link and choose "reload"

    Any suggestions?

That'll happen if your CAD files are on your local server.
You need the Autodesk Desktop Connector to be able to upload the DWGs to BIM 360.

TBH, I'm not sure, but I don't think you can edit a DWG from BIM 360, though.
They are also updating it at least once a month and the install requires Admin rights, so be prepared to do a LOT of update installs for your office.

My cad files are on my local server.

I downloaded the autodesk connector. I'm relatively new to BIM 360...I'm not entirely sure how to use the connector, I haven't found many tutorials on the web either. I found a pdf created by Dzan Ta, it was super helpful -- but I still have lots of questions.

I do know that the office I am in, they prefer to keep things old school. They like our linked cad files to remain on the local server.
After I added the desktop connector, I haven't seen my files updating automatically on their own. Will this be possible with desktop connector and my local server? Did I miss something? Anyone have any product demonstration vids/tutorial for desktop connector?
Thanks in advance for help on this

Guess I wasn't clear about that.
When I said you can't edit DWG file in BIM 360, I meant that you would have to upload them again after every Save.
Oversimplified, but the Desktop Connector is nothing more than basically an additional shortcut in Windows Explorer that allows you to copy files from your server to BIM 360

Thanks for clearing up the connector functions. I appreciate your help

I have a lot of cad links that get updated as the project progresses. It was really nice to not have to reload each file in revit after a save in autocad.
