Using Parameters and Schedules for Phase hatches

Related to this post I wrote a blog post pn the RFO Forum about using Phases to control hatching of walls. Although it's not possible to do directly, you CAN do it by using a custom parameter and some schedules. Part 1 is about creating the necessary parameters and View Filters. Part 2 will deal with setting up the schedules to quickly verify the integrity of your model and part 3 will demonstrate on how to check issued documents on consistency without having all kinds of schedules cluttering your sheets.

Have fun and feel free to comment!

Well, just posted part 2... Hope you like it!

    Recapping:
Part 1 I described to use a yes/no-parameter to distinguish walls that are created in Phase New (no override) or existing (hatch override in sections / interior elevations). I also talked about how to set up view filters.

Major problem with this: it is a STUPID method. Stupid because Revit will not be able to tie this parameter to the Phase of the Wall. It needs to be done manually which, to be honest, completely beats the purpose with ANY project bigger then let's say, the average toolshed.

So why bother to write all this down? Cause I believe that there actually IS a way to make this work. And as usual, it's all in the Schedules...
Part 2 describes how two set up 2 very simple schedules to tie the parameter (and with that the wall) into the phase it was created in. So this workmethod actually saves you time and is useable in real life...

Great job Martijn! Any chance that you can provide the screen shots at a bigger resolution?

Sure... Didn't want to clutter up the whole screen like with the big pics, but I'll reattach them...

EDIT: Pt2 is done... Is this better? If not, I'll make some pdf's and post them here and reference the blog... If it is better, I'll redo pt1 too.

Normally Blogger would just insert a "thumb" in the blogpost, and link the "thumbs" to the larger images... But in this case, I do not get the large images on click.

Don't know, maybe they changed it. I just upload the pics and cut&paste them in their right place. But I don't get a thumbnail or anything...

    Part 3 is also added...
With that I added the project file as an attachment here to fiddle with. If desired I can also put everything into 1 pdf...
