Start a family with the generic model template, then set "work-plane based" = yes, and "always vertical" = no.

Hello Alfredo, I tried with the method you said but when I load it in the project which has a floor and wall , void is cutting only the floor but not wall. I took family template as 'generic model floor based'. Do you have any idea regarding the issue?

    Try using GM Face-Based template.
Perhaps "nest" the wall-face part into the floor-face family.
Can you post an image of what you are trying to do, and/or the family?

Well, that's not what your original question said, was it? Did you mention that the family needed to have a void that was supposed to cut a wall and a floor at the same time? No, where did you say that?

Sorry, but Revit uses one host at a time.

    Alfredo,

Based on my reading of the OP's second message, I think maybe he was saying that he was able to get it to cut the floor but not the wall (I don't necessarily think they're both supposed to be cut at the same time).

I also see that he said he used a "Generic Model Floor Based" template. That would account for not being able to cut the wall.

As Cliff suggested, use Generic Model Face Based and follow Alfredo's instructions.

EDIT: After posting this, I tried to make an example file. For some reason it doesn't want to cut the Floor OR the Wall in my tests. (yes it is set to Cut on loading). Once I get it resolved, I'll post it.
