    Question newbie question

    Hi,

newbie to API, not to Revit, I wonder what the best start with API would be?
a tutorial maybe? a blog? Revit help?

I really want to deal with API, for me the best way to increase Revit's power!

You probably should get acquainted with Jeremy Tammik's blog and read his older post Getting Started with Revit API 2009. Then his later follow up post Getting Started with the Revit API 2010. A third post regarding Getting Started references Rod Howarth's contributions.

You'll want to watch the DevTV videos.

These are the Revit API blogs I'm familiar with:

    Daren@Work (Daren Thomas)
    Revit APP Blog (Bruce)
    Rod Howarth
    Revit Programing (Ed Pitt)
Bolt out of the Red (Guy Robinson)
    CAD App Development (Matt Mason)
    The Building Coder (Jeremy Tammik)
    Revitnet (Don Rudder)

All of them put together might barely equal the output by Jeremy Tammik alone (he's prolific) but they each offer stuff you'll probably find interesting at some point. Once the forums are restored at AUGI you'll find a lot of past topics there to peruse as well as asking your questions there and here. Be sure to post some work-in-progress for critique?

don't forget the documentation that comes with the Revit SDK... this is also very helpful for starting out (both the developers guide and the many samples)... majority of samples are in C# so if you don't have any prior programming knowledge i would start learning C#
