    line weights

I'm new to Revit and am having some very basic struggles!
I am trying to set up a template for converting CAD details to Revit and I want to have the lines visible as per the attachment.
In the Lines drop down menu I have the options of Hidden Lines, Lines, Medium Lines and so on...
But in: Manage/Additional Settings/Line Weights/Annotation Line Weights, I can find very specific line weights but I can's seem to apply them to a line in my drawing.

Hi as you already noticed it you can modify those line weights, but also you must notice that there are two more related options to lines in additional settings which are : Line styles and Line types, so in order to create your own Lines which the specific line weights you must do as follows:

    1. Go to Manage/Additional Settings Line Styles, once then you need to create your own line type or modify an existing one, but It's better to create your own! (See pic)
    2. once here you need to go to modify sub categories and hit on new:this allows you to give a name for your own line style (the name can be part of your office standards. (See Image)
    3. Doing this you'll be able to give to your line style a "Line Weight" (Which is the part you've already saw) this line weight will be affect all the lines that shared it!!
    4. You need to give to your new style a Color.
    5. the las part will be the line type Which is merely the type of representation for your line I mean, the line type represents if your lines are continue, Hidden or Dash for example, You can create your own line types if you need,

Hope this is clear enough! if not, let me know to clarify, best regards

In addition to the advice offered by Andres, Manage/Additional Settings/Line Weights/Annotation Line Weights does not control detail lines. Annotation Line Weights are for things like dimension string lines, section cut lines, etc. To control line weights for detail lines or model lines, use Manage/Additional Settings/Line Weights/Model Line Weights. You will need to adjust the line weight for each scale.

In addition on converting CAD details to Revit details, don't use lines. Instead use detail components and don't trace over the CAD details.
