    Shape handle, dragging grips

    When I load a family into the project, I am loosing a grips.
    I lock up a ref planes and I am adding an instance parameters as well.
    What am I doing wrong?

    'Strong' reference planes should give you stretch grips.

    Yes! as @elton already said you just only need to change your reference planes from: Not a reference; For: Strong reference or Ref.Right and Ref.Left references, go to Properties - Other - Is the reference - (and here you need to change the status of your reference) that should do the trick

    I always use weak reference for grips personally.

    In fact, that's what the original family has and when I load it into an empty project, it works fine. I'm not seeing the problem.

    Thanks for your tips. Yes, I have changed for a strong references and it is working fine in project.When I go the 3D view, then I still do not have those grips-they are in 2D view only.
    I remember, I used to have those grips in 3D view, but I forgot how I did this. Any ideas? Do I have to change anythig else in Properties?Cheers

    Yes those grips are visible only in 2d, regards

    You can get them in 3D if you make the grips with Reference LINES instead of reference planes. John Pierson went over this in his BILT lab.
