    Question Cosine Rule

    How can I make Cosine Rule 'side' not angle into a working formula in revit.

    my formula

    a2=b2+c2-2bc cos A

    revit version of it

    Length_AB^2+Length_BC^2-2*Length_AB^2*Length_BC^2cosAngle_Bsqrt

    Referring to the values in your other thread:

    = SQRT((Length_AB^2)+(Length_BC^2)-(2*(Length_AB*Length_BC)*cos(Angle_B)))

    See image with formula in use and how its result matched the previous parameters and reporting parameter Length_AC_Actual

    a=sqrt(b^2+c^2-2*b*c*cos(A))

    Have you tried the following??

    C=acos((a^2+b^2-c^2)/2(a*b))
