    how to load .rvt family templates in revit

    i recently installed revit structure 2015 but the families and family templates were not loaded. i installed the families into my local disk C . when i load the templates into the revit project i am not able to see the .rft file type but only the .rfa file. i currently also do not have the North East West and south elevations in my project browser

    Templates (.rft) are used as a base for creating families (and projects). They are visible when creating new families, or projects. There is no reason to load them, and the fact that you cant see them when you activate the load family option is just fine. You should be looking for loadable families (.rfa) files.
