Wood truss in a beam system

Our company created a pitched wood truss family, but I cannot get it to show up as an option when creating a beam system. It shows as a structural framing type and works well when placed individuallyand then arrayed. But would really like to use as part of the beam system so it can be efficiently managed and labeled. So I am not even sure what question to ask, but hoping that somebody can at least get me pointed in the right direction or tell me that I am asking for something that is not possible.

Does the truss show up as a choice in the beam system?

    From Revit Help:
Select a value for the type of beam used in the beam system.
Note: This is the same list available from the Type Selector drop-down. If the beam you require is not listed in the beam system creation tool, load the beam into the project before specifying the beam type within the beam system.

Edit: I do not think it is possible to use a truss family in a beam system. You MIGHT be able to "trick" Revit by creating a new
Structural Framing ( Beam ) Family, and create a "truss" --then load into the project and apply it to the beam system.
However, it will NOT be a Truss Family (with "bones" that you can edit in sketch mode, etc.)

    Thanks Cliff

I was hoping there was an option in the "Family Category and Parameters" that I had missed that would allow it to work. In the properties box it is listed as "structural framing (other)" and was hoping that was the glitch. I will try to recreate as a "beam" and see if that works. I find working with wood in Structural revit cumbersome and wish for a simpler truss option.
