Modifying the shape of a structural column

    Hi folks,

I am trying to learn Revit for my engineering Coop. My question is as per the title.

a little more detail of what I need to know how to do:

I have a structural column. the base looks like this:

once it rises about 196.5" the column flares out to look like this:

How do I modify a column to reflect this shape?

    any help is greatly appreciated

    Regards:

Use a blend: Help: Create a Blend

It might be worth your time to pick up a book as well: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_n_...8203&rnid=1000

I can't speak for any of them except an old version of Paul Aubin's Mastering Revit series but they all cover the same basic material.

It looks like the depth is the same @ T&B (0.5’). If this is the case, the extrusion will work (structural column category).

It looks like the OP's column is steel, not concrete. The blend option would be the better choice here.
