Joined walls and Doors- doors with different expected width

    Hi all,

I have this problem: I`m using separeted walls: 1 to core, 1 to external finish and 1 to internal finish. I insertd my door in the core one.
And with the joined, the door understand the only the host width (howyou can check in thClick image for larger version

Add a few reference planes on either side of the wall in the door family. Create a few parameters so you can adjust the offset. Attach the depth of the door frame to those reference lines. This way, you can adjust it in the project for different wall thicknesses.

it would be much more easier if revit doors understand joined walls as a single wall... There should be a parameter "joined hosts" (yes or no or a label)... We have to modify a lot of families to this... I thought about this solution but I was hopping there was a better solution. This one is not a good one. :/

revit doors do understand joined walls as a single wall, check if walls are indeed joined, if so then something wrong w/ your door.

They recognize a joined wall as far as the opening goes. What the OP is referring to is the door frame. It will only take on the width of the host wall, as far as I know. The only fix is to create your door families with a set of parameters to take any width joined walls into account.

Yes, it is a better idea. Attach base and join solvs a lot of problems.
But to get quantities with a bigger precision is better to use separeted walls. But there is a lot of problems with that, this one is just one. :/
I waste too much time with this "solution", and I'm realizing that's not the better one. Roombook help us to take quantities in a better way.
