    Offsets, Default Elevations, and Elevations

    Hi y'all,
We're experiencing something perplexing. We have a ton of content that we've been using for three or more years. It all worked fine in 2009 and 2010. In RMEP 2011, we're coming across a new Height instance parameter. And it's not the same value as the Default Elevation we built into the Family. I took screen captures showing all the Instance and Type values from within the Family Editor and all the Instance and Type values from after placing/loading it in the Project. Suddenly I have a new Instance Constraint called Elevation (in addition to the default Offset). Has anyone else seen this? A known issue? An upgrade? Did we break our Template?

    Any advice is most appreciated!

Could you post the screen captures?

I'm running into this in Revit Arch 2011 as well (default mounting heights for toilets, urinals, etc.). Can anyone say if this has been fixed in 2012?

    A spot of thread necromancy...

I've been asked how (if at all) can we get the installed height of our face-based families - but for the life of me I can't see the "Default Elevation" or "Offset" parameter as a field option in schedules.

Associating an instance-based SP with "Default Elevation" sticks the entered value, and there doesn't appear to be a way of having a reporting parameter work either.

Personally, I'd have the elements dimensioned in elevation (we produce the drawings after all) and be done with it - but there's a lot of mileage in being able to "get" that info. in the future - so there must be a way.

why doesn't the reporting parameter work? Just need to use ALL refplanes and NO geometry to set it to...
