    Horizontal dimension with vertical text

How do you make horizontal dimension with vertical text, and vertical dimension with horizontal text and text placed by second tick mark (arrow)?
And more, how do you create a family similar to dimension style 'Baseline' in AutoCAD?

    Thank you!

In the dimension Type Properties put the Read Convention to Up, then Left.

    That doesn't work.
If this is not possible, I give 2 cents on Revit.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to have text that is not aligned with the dimension line? Maybe an example would help us understand.

As for having text placed by arrow, after you place the dimension (and cancel the dimension command), select the dimension element. Under the text you will see a little blue dot ... click and drag this blue dot to move the text somewhere else. With the dimension selected, look at the options bar and you will see a checkbox: "Leader" - if this is checked, it will add a line or arc from the text to the dimension line (it's on by default ... it has to be turned off manually). The arc vs line is set in the dimension type itself and you can even add a tick mark to the leader.

This what I am looking for. Horizontal dimension with vertical text.
The vertical dimension with horizontal text is solved.

I know that is possible to edit dimension using grips, but it's too much work. I need to be able to make a 'chain' of dimensions like DavidLarson shows.

    For vertical text doesn't work.
Why did you blackout Tick Mark?

    Thank you!

That's the setup I'm using that gives me what you're asking for.

I blacked it out because it has a name that can be identified. OPSEC never goes away
