For slanted columns, use the Slanted Column tool from an elevation or section view. I don't understand what you mean by slanted and angled, but if you want to rotate the section of the column, there is a parameter to control the angle of the profile.

Could OP be referring to a double-tapered column--I'm thinking like a concrete pylon.
Except that is easy enough with Slanted Column.

Basically OOTB column is not what we are looking for, rather then controlling the slope with angle or ration, we prefer a set dimension.

The column in question looks like this:

It has a angled chamfer on one side only and it has to be also inclined:

...and, have you tried to model this with the Slanted Column tool?

I tried the slanted column tool, but it has only options of angle or ratio, in addition it attaches itself to floor.

This is seems more hands on option, where I can control the distance between bottom vs top points.

I made a test, and I don't see any difficulty in stretching the slanted column. I don't understand what the difficulty is. The column has an option to be point driven instead of angle driven. Then I chose point driven and stretch the column using the blue dots, not the blue arrows.
