    copy paste detail items

I want to copy and paste detail items that used to detail a wall section. To ultimately set this into my template for easier detailing.
I have tried it but it says I'm not pasting to the appropriate view. I am trying to paste to a new drafting view.
I suspect that there might be a part of the model in the section. If that is the case, does anyone know how to isolate out all of the model?
    Thanks,
    Gary

After you filter to select only detail items as indicated above, instead of copy-pasting create a detail group. Then, go to the drafting view and insert the detail group. Then, from the template file, you can use Insert > Views from file, and insert this drafting view with the detail group into your template.
