ceiling tag to read as spot elevation (top or bottom elevation) (2017)

i would like to have a ceiling tag read the way a spot elevation reads the "top elevation" or "bottom elevation" of an element? for instance, in an RCP i would like the ceiling tag to read the underside of the ceiling ( or "top elevation"

Unusual, but possible. You need a custom type parameter to enter the thickness of the ceiling, and a calculated value in the tag, to add the thickness to the offset from level, to get the elevation at the top of the ceiling. Then, create two types of tags, one to show the standard offset from level, and another type to show the top elevation.
