    Structural Framing Based Family

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone has any idea about creating a structural framing based family in Revit.
I have modeled hollow-core prefabricated floor as structural framing, which is how it is usually done. I wanted make some openings for pipes in the hollow-core deck, and I was thinking if this could be done in a smart way with voids modeled as structural framing based family. However, as far as I know Revit does not allow for creation of structural framing based families.
Has anyone been able to find a workaround this problem.
    Would really appreciate your input.

use a "generic model - face based" and you can place it on any face of any element (including framing)
