    Rigid Slab & Foundation Insulation

How are people handling rigid slab insulation? If I use a wall I can use a wall sweep and it is easy but if I use a structural foundation I can't use a wall sweep and would have to use an in-place model. Is one way better than the other from an architectural standpoint (str isn't in Revit yet )

Slab insulation or foundation wall insulation? Foundation insulation could just be a wall itself. I usually make a separate floor type for insulated slabs which makes it easy to add a filter to show those areas in plan. This gets tricky with sloped floors though.

I usually only showed vertical on the outside using a wall. Floors and walls are probably the better way.
You could throw generic models in there as a contender for it's joinablity and being able to make it parametric.

Don't have to many choices to pick from.

What about using a wall for the vertical insulation and a sweep on that wall for the horizontal?

Not quite as automated but might be better in the long run when conditions vary.

Another possibility--Slab Edge on the floor for the under-slab insulation.
Thick Concrete Wall for Foundation, with a sweep for foundation/vertical insulation.
