Copy & Pasting using Paste Aligned to Same Place - not coming in at same place

We got a multi-file project using shared coordinates. All the projects have the same shared coordinate numbers - which is fine. We copy paste from one project into another and the elements don't land up in the correct location.

Doing some digging the initial start up location is different between the files.

The tool tip suggests that the elements can be copied between two projects using shared coordinates... but it's not using shared coordinates as its point of reference. Instead it uses the initial startup location as its point of reference. Can anyone confirm my thinking?

Shared coordinates puts each project file at a certain place on a site....but it has nothing to do with the project center point within each model. So unless both projects were setup exactly the same, copy/paste won't work.

You could use the copy/monitor tool to copy in the stuff you need, delete it in the other model, and then tell the copy to stay and no longer monitor.

What I usually do is add a line from a known grid intersection of both models and use that location to line them up....
