    Tagging Curtain Walls as Windows

I am trying to tag curtain walls to create a window schedule, and I can only get the wall type tag to show up. Is it possible to tag curtain walls with window tags instead?

why not just make a curtain wall tag to look like the window tag you want to use? Is this just a visual thing or do you have some other reason to want to use a window tag?

I could do that, it's mostly a graphic thing...I guess to create my window schedule (multi-category?) I could create a filter to include curtain walls?

There are a ton of things to think through regarding this:

Curtain Wall "Types" wont correspond to any actual type of mullion configuration or elevation, so in effect: Either way you do it will be manually coordinated. Since that is the case, i recommend a Generic Annotation placed in a Model Group with the Curtain Walls. At least then you can select all of the model groups, and tell them to place the attached detail groups in certain plans. Its manual that when you make a new curtain wall configuration (group) you have to change the GA, but thats no more manual than having different Curtain Wall "types" since they wont associate anyway.

Along with worksets, curtain walls were another "evil of Revit" myth I had to move our office away from, so in the early days it was "make the CW (wall) tag look like the window (window) tag" - but now, thankfully, it's "well that'd be curtain walling, so lets have a CW (wall) tag that reads their (instance) mark, and elevate them individually, accordingly" - and like wise :

we've gone from trying to include the two in one schedule, and now have one for each - that way then we have type-based schedules for windows (for counts & design management), instance-based schedules for windows (for itemised data, ie. ironmongery, finish, etc) and an instance-based (wall) schedule filtered by type mark (CW) for our curtain walls.
