Rendering a glass bottle or wine glass

    Hi all,

Finding the Revit Rendering engine in 2017 produces great images, struggling however to produce a realistic glass shader for objects the populate my scene.
They always turn out dark grey, what am i doing wrong?

What would be a good set of material settings?

    Many thanks all !!

well, all seems to be ok, nevertheless, I've noticed that in the information part the name: Glass_Clear(1), contains a (1) at the end, this happens when you duplicate a material without renaming it, so it may happened that you've already modify the settings for another glass (that without the (1)) at the end and accidentally this modify your new settings, or at least is what I've noticed, It seems too that your color was modify too! you may try to duplicate the "material resource", by hitting the button replace source (see image) or change it for another Glass resource, the last thing may work or at least that will be my first try, hope this can help you, regards

Make sure your Quality settings are High or better. The engine won't render refractive transparency at anything lower.

Whilst I've achieved "better" (actually, arguably, the other end of the spectrum where the glass'iness is too indistinct) you're generally advised to move away from using the procedural material asset definitions....

I put beer in my mugs to be rendered. Even put in parameters to adjust the amount of beer and head is in the mug. Then no matter what, the glass was irrelevant. This was back in '12 when I was learning Revit and doing everything possible to NOT model anything like what the paying jobs had in them. It sure irritated the management but 6 years later they're still wishing to go back to Microsatan so there you go.
