    how to make more realistic?

hi guys, im producing this rendering but am not satisified at it. (using revit to render). how can i make it look more realistic? is it the programs i am using? any tips and tricks to improve this such as lighting landscaping etc. the roof is supposed to be a corrugated sheet same color as the darker roller door but doesnt seem to change color even though they are the same material.. any help on all these questions would be greatly appreciated!!

Think you are lacking some textures for your roof and maybe other materials. Driveway looks like it is plain concrete (and a very white one too). Glass has no reflection that I can see.

Trying rendering myself too, so I know you will run into some problems, but in the end you should be able to get a better looking image for sure.

Materials and little details count when going for realism. Here are some helpful links of posts I have published over the years:

This is a link to all of the posts talking about materials and Revit:

Rendering is all about Materials, Lighting and angle. This is not my best work but its a similar type of project. So hopefully it will help you. These are 100% rendered in revit(5 years ago or so). The only thing done in Photoshop is to add the lake in the back. The people and trees are all RPC content. You can see taking care in your roadway material and little details like adding stripes to the road, mulched areas around the planting. Light posts, etc. all add to the realism. Roofs are hard because roof tiles are repetative. you can spend time in photoshop creating a better pattern, but i used what I got off the MFR website. Learn the material editor, use image based materials not the procedural.how to make more realistic?-rendering.jpghow to make more realistic?-rendering-2.jpg

Even with mediocre materials the little details like striping & curbs will make the image infinitely better. I'll try to find some samples I have later today to share
