    only 1 CPU for rendering

    Hello,

I'm running Revit on Windows 7 on a partitioned iMac with Intel Core2 duo processor. However, it only renders with one box at a time. I assume that means it's only using one CPU thread. Is that correct?

I wouldn't trust the boxes on screen. Use Task Manager and the Performance tab. With that CPU I think you should see four traces in CPU history (2 'real' cores and 2 'virtual' cores thanks to hyper threading). The first stage of rendering half will be pegged while the other half are less than maxed out, and in later stages of rendering everything will be maxed out. Anything else and something is amiss.

OK, thanks for clarifying. A previous install of V-Ray used to show multiple boxes, so I thought that was an indicator of cpu usage.

All your processors are focusing on that one box at a time in Revit. 3dsMax and Maya separates them out into many boxes. I bet Revit is using all your cores when you process.
