    Andres -
I've become extremely efficient at Revit and 3dsMax and the workflow I've developed between them. I have a used $900 Dell T5500 with 16 processes (dual - quad core) and only 12Gb. That's what I render with.
As far as time spent: I basically started from scratch on Saturday morning and had the renders done by Sunday. I also had time to create the Nursery Suite I'm about to post...but that was most of my Monday.

Where do you go for materials? I'm always on the hunt for new resources

Arroyway textures. I bought a few of their DVD's a few years ago. They are devastatingly impressive! 40Mb texture maps! LOL, I have to downsize them in photoshop to be more manageable of course. Worth every penny if you have a few hundred dollars to spend. And yes, the do render as well as they show them on their website...with minimal need for correcting. Its impressive.
Otherwise for the most part I google search, download and modify images to make them my own.
The carpet is available for free on most manufacturer's websites. I guess based on a technicality, if you download any of my 3dsMax models on my link, the textures are downloadable too.

    Cellophane (Chad) -

I did end up posting a texture map of the Afromsia Wood panels I'm using in the renderings. Search DV forums on Augi.com or hopefully pasting this link works:
    Radiography Room

Fresh new renders are up! Comments?

drat We don't do enough renderings at that level to justify it. Otherwise I do about what you mentioned, although when I need a specific product it can be a bear to get high res images from manufacturers. It's great that Mohawk (and others) have high res but a lot don't.
