    Revit to 3dsMaxDesign Workflow

    Hey,
I am currently using Revit 2013 and 3dsMaxDesign 2013. I having linking problems as I am unable to reload the revit file as I am using different desktop and the path is different on each desktop.
Is there any way to solve this problem without the need of adding material again?

    Thanks for your time

Why don't you link it to a network drive that they all load off of?

The need for a network (server) location would benefit schools so much more...everything is kept in the same place....instead of having to save to a USB then to a workstation then save to the USB at the end of class...

My university had a pretty decent computer lab with a network for the students/faculty to use.

    I had the same problem.
Anyway this doesn't help you without admin rights.

I didn't want to depend on a server (I like to be mobile same time). So every computer has a D partition these days. I made a d:\\render\projectX\maps\ folder for every rendered project.
I installed a software that automatically sincronize bidirectional those folders in the same second I add delete something. The Revit FBX files are there too. The software works in background exactly like Dropbox. The only difference is that it is instant/offline/and only hardisk constrained in terms of space.

I use resource collector tool in 3d max to redirect all the paths of the scene materials to that folder, ones I know I had to change the PC. My maps main library is only on one PC. But with the process described above I only duplicate the "in use" scene maps.
