That's how the conversation got started, I built a similar tag.

Just for every project out there started in a template like ours, there are 5 projects where the "Mark values" are filled in, in Revit, and the "Table of text" is nothing but strips of Text in a Drafting View or Legend.
That makes sense. What parameters are you using to filter it down for exterior elevations?

Well, The MTO itself isnt necessarily filtered in to "interior" and "exterior" so much as in to "Object or Material Type." So, BRICKS all sort together, and PAINTS are all together, and CARPETS are all together. And so on.

And Filtering them is pretty easy: Since Materials (Finish Wise) change SO much job to job, i dont have their Asset Tag Value (Mark or Type Mark value, basically) filled in, by default. So the first time you tag BRK1 in elevation, the tag is blank. When you fill in BRK1, it suddenly shows up in the schedule. This is also a handy way to filter since all the construction materials dont have Asset Tag values.

Naturally you still have to deal with the Revity BS of stuff that doesnt schedule in MTO's, like Wall Sweeps.... But you have to deal with that regardless.

Probably half of the architectural models I deal with are pretty solid on embedded materials so I don't have to go searching things. Only a few have more of a bare bones material mapping to their Families, which makes me need to search things.
