Good morning from London! Last day of the working year so I'm doing some housekeeping - with AUGI all achange and Revitcity a ghost town thanks to their viral attack I thought I'd hunt out another forum to harass with my queries and try my best to help those who I can.

But first, introductions. My name's Kieren and I'm our company's "BIM / CAD Lead" - essentially a middle-man role I created for myself that sits somewhere between an architectural assistant and a BIM/CAD manager. We're a relatively small firm (30 odd) who focus on mental health facilities, who adopted Revit (2008) as our BIM platform 3 years ago... it's been a slow and steady uptake and we're still using Sketchup and Autocad - but with the benefits of change all too apparent there's been a big push of late, thanks to some big new jobs, to move away from those and all into Revit (2011)

And that's about that really - see you in the threads...

yeah, must be nice. Being self employed my last working day/time is 12/31/10 at around 6:30pm PST. Then it's up and at it for the first day of the year on 1/1/11 at around 6:30am

Same problem here, on the other hand: first snow off the season and I can drop everything to go play outside with the children... There are advantages in being self employed...

    Hi all.

My name is Glenn, I started using ACAD in 2004, and have been using Revit Structure for the last 3+ years. I have assisted in the implementation of Revit within a global consultancy, presented papers at the Revit Technology Conference in Australia, and wrote Articles for AUGI AEC Edge.

I run a Revit Structure Blog called Revit ST - http://revitst.blogspot.com

I am sure you will see me around here as well as AUGI... We might as well 'hang out' in both forums!

    Cheers

    Glenn

Welcome, everybody, and welcome, Glenn. Can you tell us more about this Revit Technology Conference in Australia?

    Hi everyone,

My name is John. I started with AutoCAD R11 for DOS back in 1994 and used AutoCAD exclusively until 2006, when I took a new job that had me using Revit Systems, as it was then called. My task was to get this new program intended for commercial buildings to work for residential use with no training. That job went away with the economy in 2008, and I'm now working for a company doing Revit MEP coordination for commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, etc.
