I'm sure Autodesk would be pleased with a name change to Archicadforum.org.

Autodesk lawyers need to find another task to concentrate on. Why would you attack a group that is trying to help everyone understand the program so we as users don't just refuse to use it and tell our companies we are not getting the support from Autodesk we need and to look elsewhere for competitor software. Get a life Autodesk Lawyers, we users are paying your exsorbent salary!

As long as "Revit" is not used in the primary domain name. That is their issue....but they need to understand that Revit is no longer being used as just a program name....its also used to describe a process...

At which point it moves from a proprietary name to public domain. (imo)

somewhat related is this old bit from Crosley Bendix from an old Negativland album:

Crosley Bendix Discusses the US Copyright Act
Crosley Bendix Discuses the U.S. Copyright Act :Negativworldwidewebland (has audio of the broadcast)

Finally someone forwarding a suggested resolution. Great 1st post!!!

Munkholm, this should be the stance proposed to ADSK. If they too are simply protecting their TM then they might go for this kind of thing, perhaps with a slight addition of spelling out the TM is ADSK's...

I have been using revit since version 2...at least 10 years...
Autodesk should realize that revit would not be the product it is without this and similar
"revit"named forums...Users build the product! Autodesk should be grateful for all the hard work
they have benefited from! I'm sorry, but autodesk support does not come even close to providing
the kind of information and support forums, blogs and other users consistently provide for free and with a smile...

I see huge reprocussions if autodesk wins this...no components produced by "non-authorized" vendors, no tutorials on youtube,
no user groups...could get really ugly!

email sent to Aut*d*sk public relations. I agree with everyone here that there are loads of other forums out there that use the trademarked name in order to inform others that there is a location to talk about and find answers regarding that certain product. I would hate to see AECforum.org or CADforum.org those would be so crazy unorganized and way too general. I wish they would cease and desist on this issue. They need to spend more time and money on the software instead of attacking those helping promote it.

Thank you for being there for us! REVITforum.org!!
REVIT REVIT REVIT REVIT REVIT REVIT REVIT (they bought the damn name from someone else anyways!)

OMG!!!!!!!!!! having read all of the other responses, I can think of nothing else to say. As a sole practitioner I would have to give up trying to use Revit without revitforum......

Going to be interesting to see if ADSK write to the owner of and I'm sure there are others with similar domain names.
