I submit "theprogramthatwepayalotofmoneyforbutshallnotbenam edforum.org". I think that's in the spirit of silliness of the legal action, no?

If you change the name you can support alternatives to Revit on the forum.

    Beat me to it.....

As for the other domains that have Revit in them, such as "Revitalize" (And I found over 150 trademarked items with that term)
I don't think the lawyers will chase after any of them unless they talk about/feature Autodesk products.

    Because we shouldn't have to.

It seems to me that Autodesk is trying to choke out any free community support so they have no competition for their paid support system.

Autodesk have no leg to stand on. ICANN is on our side. Other Companies have won this battle before.

Unless they cut this crap out immediately, I will never purchase or advocate the purchase of their products again.

Most end users don't have this option. And if your new software provider does something similar? Just put an extra T in Revittforum.org

    Good for Business

Great job AutoDesk! Alienate 17,000 of you most active users, that will be good for business. This will go over well, just like the forced migration for Revit users to the Design Suite Premium at a 35% cost increase...

Calling BS on the 'actively protecting the trademark' angle, untold number of forums utilize manufacturer names in their domains.

When did becoming adversarial to your customers, let alone the support community that has undeniably enabled your prominence, become a good angle for business.

Would have liked to sit in on a few of the ADSK internal meetings. Know they have not met projections and lost earnings (FQ3 2012) and some suits probably had to do some justifications for their jobs. Perhaps out of that came the 'lets not court new customers but instead squeeze our present customers for 35% more in subscription fees and then sue our customer support base' plan.

disabling community support to drive paid support is a whole other angle I didnt think of but would fall in line with the squeeze our customers theme.
I envision a banner somewhere at ADSK that reads..
HOW CAN WE MAKE THEM PAY MORE!!

This is unbelievably stupid on Autodesk's part. Successful use of Revit depends in large part on the user-to-user support network of valuable web sites such as RevitForum, and a move like this which reduces to visibility of such sites can only harm Revit users, and therefore Autodesk in the long term.
