[Solution Available] - Title Block Instance Bases Labels

    Applies to: - All Verticals

    New Feature / Problem:
Having the ability to add custom instance based lables into the title block. These would function similar to how the "Author" and "Drawn By" currently work. And which we have no way of duplicating.

Why do you need this Feature / Why is it a Problem:
This feture would allow more flexability of title blocks
The addition of this would allow for text to be entered in the title block on a per sheet basis. This would allow much more useability of the title block.
Example: We would be able to put an issue date on each sheet, or identify a tracking number or revision number.

    Workflow:
I am adding a sheet after the project is in construction. For internal purposes we want an issue date of just that sheet.

Currently people would have to add text to the sheet to accomplish this.

Having a instance based label within the title block would allow the users to place it directly in the title block. Creating consistancy.

    Benefits:
Expanded use of title blocks. Constancy.
Possible use could include custom revisions schedules.

Well, you can do this by using a instance shared text parameter applied to the sheets...
BUT, these can't be used in the native revision schedule (as far as I know).

Please explain to me how to create an instance based shared parameter in a title block family.... it is not allowed in the title block families as far and I can see.

Place a new label on a titleblock, and you´ll be allowed to apply a shared parameter to that label

Ok, I dug into this and I apologize, I made the wrong statement:

          1. Create the labels you need in your titleblock family, using custom made shared parameters (text)
          2. In your project template, load the parameters. When you need them to be TYPE parameters, apply to the Category Project Information. When you need them to be INSTANCE parameters, apply to the Category Sheets.

Both are now editable in your Titleblock in the project.

Now that beats waiting for Revit 2050 wouldn´t you say?

I´m not gonna move it, but might close it and remove the poll. (Just to save someone else from making the same wish in the future)
