convert room to spaces is it possible ?

Hi everyone i just saw a video from Cadclip CADclip - REVIT MEP 2008 - HVAC DEMO - YouTube
which show when you link architectural you can acquire rooms without have to put them again
is that possible in revit 2012,2013 with spaces
i mean it is tedious to make again spaces and give it a name
there must be a quick way to do it , so i am waiting your answer

No. You cannot copy rooms now, as it is shown in that video from 2008. In recent versions, you first make the architectural link room bounding, and then create spaces, automatically, or by sketch. The automatic option works very quickly. That will create most of occupiable spaces, basically equivalent to all the rooms of the architectural link at the current level. Some spaces will not be created automatically, though, due to issues in the architectural model, usually. Then, you need to check for sliver spaces, which are not rooms in the architectural model, but need to be created as spaces in MEP. They might be done automatically, joined to the adjacent space, but you still need to double check. But you're not done yet. You still need to go the plenum levels and create more spaces. Basically, all the volume of the building needs to be accounted for in spaces, and then spaces need to be organized in zones. To name the spaces as per the rooms, there is the Space Naming Utility, which can help on that, but some other names need to be entered manually, anyway. Nothing is too quick and easy in MEP.

Well there is a good idea that may resolve typing a name for every space which is editing space tag family and altering space name parameter to a room name parameter which will read the same name of architecture while keeping it as a space i saw it recently RevitCity.com | Revit MEP 2009 - Rooms, Spaces, etc...
what i was wishing that i select all the rooms bounding once per all and then convert it to space and in few seconds it generates to me spaces parallel to an architectural rooms  i saw making space automatically one by one is a long process and if someone will type the same name room for space that is more boring.

oh sorry did not make before place spaces automatically which is a great tool and with edit space tage family and change its parameter to room name parameter that is it but the only problem in cooling and heating load it is like space 1, space 2 , space 3,....... so the same report that come from cooling and heating load analysis. is there a way to make space 1 complying to space tag in the floor plan project which is actually space tag has room name parameter ?.

Use the Space Naming Utility add-on, available at the Autodesk Subsription Center, neat little tool that will name your spaces to match the architect's rooms.
