    Dimension - Automatic Spacing?

    Is there such a thing?

In the past i have been using reference lines setup at 800mm centres for my distance between dimensions, however a conversation with one of my drafties they suggest its possible to have this to auto snap 800mm off the dimension closest to it.

i have had a look and cant seem to find anything regarding the dimension family?

is this possible? it would certainly be handy if such a beast does exist.

Im aware of the Dimension Line Snap Distance (set at 800mm) but that doesnt do anything!

As is per usual with Revit, its usually the simplest thing possible, but its escaping me at the moment what the solution is.

Sure is and you were so close !!
"Dimension Line Snap Distance" is what you are after but set ist to between 8 to 10mm (real world sheet setting) and it will be right for 1:100. etc..
Do one dimension string then when you do your next string move it toward your last string and it will snap at the set offset distance.

As Mark said... set it to 8 mm´s instead If set to 800 mm´s it would appear to do nothing, since the snap distance is 100 times further away than you expect it to be.
