I think within revit it is fixed, but if you export the sun study you can chose the number of frames per second to control the speed

As far as I know, you can't in Revit. Which is really bugging me if I want to show the Solar Study "live". Only possibility you have is to decrease the timespacing between the frames, then you get more frames and it takes somewhat longer.

The slowest setting which is available in revit is to have the export set to 15 min intervals rather than 1 hr and then set 1 frame per second which will generate an approx 25 sec film clip for a study between 10am and 4pm.

One of the areas in Revit which could to with some care and attention from the factory.

This really sucks! To think i have to export to have more control over frame speed, also once you have exported you loose time of frame sequence.
This makes for really poor "live" presentations.
This is sounding like a wish list item !!
          Hmmmm...
Might hold off on "Wish list items" till mid April and wait and see what the ADSK Easter Bunny brings.

i always export my rendered frames separately and recompile them in adobe premiere. it would take a lot for revit to single-handedly beat this workflow.

imho the biggest thing missing from revit is object animation.
