    Tagging Beam Length

I would like to add the length of all my beams to beam tag.
However, when i try to add it when editing the label for the tag, there is no Length option available?
However on all my beams, under the dimensions section the length is shown! Thanks for any help!

I'm not sure, but you may be able to do a shared Reporting parameter, add that to the beam that reports the beam length, then add the parameter into the beam tag. Again, I'm not sure, and have not tested this at all. Just a thought.

It works... but its buggy because of the way the beam extensions function... plus you cant use any formulas in the reporting paramter. :-\

Wouldn't you attach it to the Geometry of the beam?

But the geometry is whats affected by the extensions... I guess that would give you a better report for the extrustion length and thus could be calulated into weight better.

You need the Cut Length I guess. Not accessible, unless you attend to the tomorrow's live session

I got it to work by creating a shared parameter called "tagged length" and setting it equal to "Length" - NOT a true reporting parameter but performs the same function and seems to work in a tag just fine.
