Hide all objects of a same family

    Hi everyone
I am an architect and linked mep to my revit file
we have "exhaust fans" and "Packaged Water Chillers"
now,I want to hide all "exhaust fan" in roof plan,
    so
-if I unmark the mechanical equipment in V/G , all of them...hide
-I can not say to mep team to specify a workset for "exhaust fans"
-and it is impossible to select one by one with tab and hide them

Thanks to show me the best way

    1. Select one "exhaust fan", right click, click "select all instances" pick "in entire project" (or "just in view" if that is what you want).
    2. Go to modify tab, select "hide in view", select "hide element"
    All done.....

      but:
"select all instances" is inactive for linked file
I want to hide a family of linked file >>>>>> MEP in architecture project

Maybe ask your mep engineers nicely if they could put them on different subcategories?

You need to setup a filter in your VG settings. you can then filter mechanical equipment by family name.

What version are you on? If I remember correctly, 2011 and later allows you to apply filters to linked models.
