Is there a way to export or save a profile family from a rvt file? Using RAC 2011. I am trying to save the profily family so I can use it in another project.

You can go to the families section of the project browser and expand the profiles section. Right click the one you want to save out and choose the 'Save...' option. This will allow you to save family in a location you can load it from. -
