UV Grid by Intersect & Border Points

    Hello,

I am generating a UV grid by intersect in mass in order to populate surface with adaptive family. It works fine except border panels. Typical panel is rectangular in nature and border panels are trapezoidal. But my problem is placing trapezoidal panels on border because i don't get adaptive points on the border so I can't select points to place adaptive family manually.

Any idea how to get adaptive points on border?

Please see attached image. I dont't get points at the fold of two non-planner surfaces.

    Thansk in anticipation.

I don't really understand the question. is it possible to post a (part of) the model / family for reference?

He needs points to snap to at the intersection of the 2 faces. I believe there is a toggle somewhere to turn these on. I don't know where. Or you can add points that should snap to these locations.

The person to ask is Zach at http://buildz.blogspot.com/

          he'll know what to do.

Well, that was the first thing coming to my mind too... But, taking a stab at it: I think you are confusing two different things. In order to use AC's I believe you need to have a pattern applied to the Conceptual Mass, and not just a U/V-grid. If this is done, you need to have a AC loaded and you can apply it (at least, it works for me).

Hope this helps. If not, ask Zach...

Adaptive components can be used anywhere, they will snap to just about anything. I'm assuming he's allready tried to snap interesection or endpoint.

I actually tried it just now, they wouldn't snap without a pattern... so, either I am making the same mistake here (which could be entirely true since I do not use this very often) or they need a pattern in the Conceptual Mass environment.

Thanks Martijn and Scott for your kind help.

Scott is right, I need to snap to the intersection where two surfaces and grids meet.
                  What I have done is,

                  - Import Rhino mass into Revit mass family.
                  - In mass family I have levels and Grids drawn to define panel sizes.
                  - I use UV grid by intersection and select those levels and grids to project them onto mass surfaces, generating UV grids.
                  - I then apply AC to this surfaces. Up to this point everything is fine.
                  - The problem is at the fold junction (where two non planner surfaces meet). I dont get nodes in order to snap AC to them.
                  - The same problem is at the border panels too.

                  Please see attached image.
You can see nodes at intersections inside the surface but there are no
nodes where two surface meet, at the fold.

                  Thanks for your help.

                  Regards

Pl. see attached revit file for the same problem.
I would like to stitch fold line with unique panels.

Any help would be much appreciated.
