Why when I make a view list schedule can I not have the detail number on my schedule? Any BIM work around?

I don't think there is a BIM workaround. That parameter is not available. If you create it and add it to your view list schedule, you still have to enter the detail number manually, one by one. Maybe a task for API?

I thought about replacing the detail number with my own so it shows up in the view list schedule, but one of the issues I foresee is that it would allow me to have 2 details with the same number on a sheet....

I really find it odd that this parameter is not scheduleable...

There is a HUGE amount of data that Revit knows, but Schedules can't see. Maybe someday they will give us an under the hood update that exposes EVERYTHING to schedules AND filters. Maybe someday I will be dating Salma Hayek. I hope I don't actually have a better chance with Salma.

But unfortunately there's no real way to do this. Just be glad your foresaw the problem. I once spent a whole day modifiying my titleblocks, browser organisation and sheet and view lists only to find out afterwards...
