    Default Section Scale

I know I've run into an answer for this before but it seems to have escaped me. Is there a way to change my default scale/visual style/detail level for a section type? For instance, I want my working sections to have fine detail, consistent colors, 1/4" scale and shadows on. I know I can make a view template and apply it after I cut the section, but is there a way I can do it so it sets it by default?

At the bottom of your VT settings you can set the "apply to new views of this type" box and that should do it.

Ah! Can't believe I didn't see that before - maybe because I didn't have a section selected. Problem is all new sections, elevations, etc of that type take on that view template. I'm looking to just have my 'Working Sections' section type to use this view template. Under 'Identity Data' in the section / elevation properties dialog there is an option for Default View Template but the view (or the subsequent section created) doesn't seem to do anything if I change it.

From what I can tell the "Apply to" only keeps the most recent selection. You will probably have to pick all of your sections in the PB and apply a template that way.

Is this the same for v2017?

In View Templates -> Manage View Templates cannot for the life of me see this option in the VT dialogue box.

It is in the type properties of the view itself.
