    walls and joins

    hi,

do you think it's possible to disallow joins for walls with an API?

Workflow: select walls (the way you want, with or without API), then a magic button to disallow joins for the selected walls.

    thanks,
    Julien

I for one would like to see this happen! Or just make it an instance property so it can be changed from the properties pallette (even better if you ask me)

Great idea, often thought about it, but a wall has two ends so it starts to get complicated, Disallow all, Disallow left, Disallow right, Disallow none ??

my all-day work with construction scheduling and phasing will only need Disallow all.
In fact, looking for left or right end of a wall will get you mad....:banghead:

Yes I would use it, but really you are looking for someone to build it!
The API is on my list for 2011, so far I have read the documentation but that is where it ends..

I've had a real quick look at this and I can't find in the API any reference to the disallow join property. Maybe it hasn't been exposed yet?

I will have another look later tonight for you.

Came across this thread on Autodesk discussion groups

Not sure if that can kick-start (or end) some thinking..

Just like you, even if I get a step further with adk installed, and visual studio too!

I will have another look later tonight for you.
Thanks for that, maybe this question with joins could be my first homework on API.

the "Revit Lookup" utility doesn't show any thing about disallowing joins, and a quick look at the properties of a Wall object in visual studio doesn't show anything obvious either

We wanted to do this also at our company. It isn't exposed in 2011. Let hope for 2012.
