Is it possible to control the properties of camera.

Like, i am trying to take a interior shot of a residence, where i couldnt get what i want because of the wall & obstacles near by.

Is there a way to control the lens property rather than stretching the boundaries in the 3d view

    Thanks

    Hi Theshell07,

In your 3d view open up the full navigation wheel. In the bottom right hand corner there is a tiny, tiny, arrow. Click that, about half way down there is adjust focal length. You may have to have the section box activated. Adjusting the focal length makes the 3d view so much nicer!

Also click in your 3d camera view and in the view properties box there are some camera settings as well. And if you want to see where camera is and make some adjustments open the floor plan where placed the camera then right click on the 3d camera view in project browser then click "show camera" from the menu.

I sometimes find that the room is to small and I have to "stand" outside of the room to avoid getting a distorted look (even if you use the navigation wheel) and then I just hide the objects, such as a wall, thats in the way.

Open your camera view, activate the steering wheel, then click on small arrow (bottom right corner) or right click anywhere on the steering wheel and a menu will open, then down near the bottom.

There is a very good tutorial video on 3d views which touches on adjusting the focal length amongst other things at Carl Gibson Revit TOTD blog. You can find it at http://revittotd.com/08/977. Well worth a look.

If the steering wheel is not available in your view on the view bar below the ribbon you can always use shift + W to toggle it.
