    Yep, I was wrong. I didn't think that the panels would behave differently. You can't even use the paint command to change their material. Thanks for pointing that out Alfredo!

    Wait, yes, rotating a hatch pattern is possible. However, the image posted by Chad shows an extrusion with a material. The question in the original post is whether you can rotate a hatch pattern in a baluster panel that is part of a railing, without creating another material. If you try to do that, Revit responds with an error message.

    But you can rotate the material...tab until you select a line and choose rotate.

    Rotate a material in baluster panels

    I am wondering if anyone has some thoughts about this baluster panel? I would rather use a Model Pattern for the welded wire mesh, but as far as I know I can't rotate the material in the panel to keep it perpendicular to the railing. I could make different patterns for each stair, but that seems a horrible kludge.

    Just curious what others have done in similar situations.
