    Security Camera Views

So I just placed security cameras in our model to show their Area of View and how ugly some of the ones they chose look in our nice pretty building. There are about 30 cameras and I'm debating whether or not to create perspective views for every single one of them because some of them are laughable where the A/V consultant placed them (like in light soffits in a ceiling and behind columns). So here's the question:

Do I create all 30, or just the ones that could have been placed better by a blind person with a shot pull or none at all?

I'd say DO IT! Just to show him why he should move to a 3D platform - 30 Views... Less than 15 minutes... Totally worth it IMO.

BTW, look up some of the posts by SamBSam here on the forum. He's also in the CCTV business, and even using Revit in his daily work

You're consultant has advised on location - you can only act on their advice - if it's in your remit to model their devices (as you've done) then that "should" be enough - but since (I imagine) it's in your remit to coordinate with your consultant, then it's in the interest of the project to simulate the cameras (by placing perspective views) in their locations also so you might troubleshoot their proposals early on...

Of course, all that is covered in Architecture 1.01.

I guess the "Revit" question is, since the perspective camera view can't truly emulate the camera(s) in question, would it be a fair/sensible endeavour? I'd say not.

I'll leave you to think about that, whilst I think back to which thread it was where I suggested Revit uses "real cameras" (like Max) - I think it might have been Klaus' awesome camera-trick thread....

              I don't have a pet monkey so I went with option nr1.
This stuff is why you have revit in the first place. To get a better understanding of the design and prevent errors beforehand. If it were me I would be sickened by the knowledge that i could have prevented expensive relocations of the cameras but didn't cause i was too lazy to create a few perspectives...

Imvho it shouldn't even be a poll... If it were some "missing" structural elements you would show them too (i hope)
