    Complex roof edge problem

I have an annoying one here. I am creating a complex concrete roof. It is part of a school we are working on. The roof is bacically a revolved surface, but with a picthed area to one side of it.

I have created the exact shape I want out of a mass, and this all works great. I have then applied my roof type to the faces I require and again, it works well I needed to change the rafter cut to square, but all good.

However.. I need to cut a chunk out of the ground / first floor that is inside the building, as this will be vertical walls etc..

When I do this, I get the roof in place as before, but I end up with one more "rafter edge".. This will not allow me to cut it off square.. I cannot get this to sort out properly. In my sections now, I get this large spike that shoots down into the building...

Any ideas on how to get over this would be great. I know in AA 2011, I could select the roof edge and tell it to be square, but I dont seem to have this in Revit..

    Cheers....Click image for larger version

I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it

I have done this method on things like that.

Make a in place family of a void of the edge that you want. Then use the Cut tool while still in he Family creator to cut the roof with the Void Shape.

If that does not work try rebuilding it in the "in place family" as a roof in pace family.

That was awesome.. I had to work it all out ( I secretly enjoy that thou...) as I havent done a huge amount of in place etc.. But it worked a treat.. All sorted and edge cut etc..

      Great stuff... ;-)
