    Reinforce Ground Slab

    Guys,

I have a ground slab that I would now like to reinforce. We usually use standard size sheets of mesh (with a lap) and place them around the slab area. Is there a way of modelling this in Revit?

I've had a look and there is nothing in the Extensions and the only other way I can see is to draw each rebar line or to use area reinforcement. If area reinforcement is that way Autodesk has intended us to do it then how do I produce MTO report for that area rebar.

    Thanks in advance.

I Revit 2012 their is no way of doing doing mesh reinforcement that I am aware of. We typically use filled regions and just do hand calcs to figure out the area needed.

WOW, hopefully something Autodesk can rectify soon. This is real basic struct/construc requirement, I'm really quite shocked that it's not a feature.

The requirements are basic, but modeling it is not typical. Even if they had a tool like this I would probably not uses it that often. All we really need is an area for the contractor with a splice and waste percentage. This is easy enough to do through a schedule, modeling it just does not seem really crucial I wouldn't think.
