Help the Revit team research Schedules

To ensure that Revit can meet current needs and has the capacity for future ones, the Revit team periodically revisits basic features. We are currently gathering information about schedules and similar data reports. This is part of an effort to understand the full range of needs you, the users, have both for the data you want to present and how you want to present it. If you are willing to help us, please use the link below. It leads to a short survey recording basic demographic and usage information and a link to share samples of your work. I know that many of you have expressed your needs here and in other forums so this may seem redundant. We follow those discussions closely. The survey method is very helpful to us as it provides information in an organized and analyzable form. Thanks in advance for your help.

    David Conant

All work collected will be used by Autodesk for internal research only and will never be shared without your permission.

      My three requests were:

Parameters, Shared Parameters, Calculated values: All are shared, and all get formula capability, and all get tagging functionality.

Available fields: Make everything in the objects (visible in the API) schedulable.

Object awareness: If stuff knows it belongs to other stuff, let other stuff know what belongs to it. (Rooms, Areas, EVERYTHING else).

      Screw schedule formatting.

I Second that ….. Take a page from Excels play book….

Make Detail View linkable to schedules. If I door allow me to link the Head, Sill and Jamb detail back to the door schedule. Make it this way with everything… finishes included… just need to remember that there is more than one detail for one object… let us be able to link and unlink… we are big kids we can handle it.

Make keynote linked in schedule read on key note list… why it doesn’t is crazy. Time and time again I need to make a Dummy view with user keynotes in it get my schedule sheets to work.

          Few more...

Live editable keynotes …. No more note list outside of Revit

Make schedule more fluid… more like Excel

Add a numbering system… and a renumbering system. And a number insertion system…. I hate numbering and renumbering …. My ten key is used up

Formatting should be done across all schedules not just one and a time….. Make it a over ride to change a single schedule.….. This gets old.

More dynamic filter and grouping tools.

Linking rooms to door or rooms to any other object in the project. …. This would help a bunch to keep a job object located when its RFI time.

Formals need to be easier to use…. I like how dynamic they are but unless you are a math wiz or a Excel pro it is hard to use them properly.

Well, they DID ask for feedback, so you might as well go for a private jet if you ask me

Bikes, Ferraris, and jets are all useful, each in its own place. We are interested in hearing about all of them and how you want to use them.

Well then I want excel like features inside Revit (make operations between cells and schedules). Then acces to all parameters in the database . In the end, graphical schedules for every piece of geometry at the level of every instance real aspect And Roombook like capabilietis directly implemented (wich is kind of object awareness). This is my army of private jets
