    Spot Elevations

    Has anybody had this error message before when trying to place a spot elevation in section?

    'One or more Spot Dimension references are no longer valid. Spot Dimensions can generally reference only those references which have valid coordinates in the view.'

    When I hover over the member I am trying to put the level on it comes up with the wrong level, then when I click on the member it comes up with the error message.

    The member is not placed on a slope and has a spot elevation in an elevation view.

    Are you trying to be the spot on a linked model?

      No, I thought that, it shows the name of the element (an RHS) when I hover over it, just won't pick the level. I've tried deleting the element and re-modelling, that didn't work.

        It would help if the error message made a bit more sense!!

          Are you using the same Spot Dim types as in the elevation that does work???? Kinda out of ideas about it.... Is if feasible to upload the problem area of your model so that we could play around with it.

            Yeah using the same spot elevation type.

            The only way I can get it to work is to change the detail level to medium and it allows me to select a corner of the RHS, it won't let me select the top or bottom lines of it, so I can get it work, just not how it should work! It's just a strange one as I've got RHS's all around the building and they allow me to do it and I don't understand the error message.

            How would I upload the problem area?!

              Select some of the elements, group them, then save the group out by right clicking on the group the the project browser.

                Spot Slope
                under Spot Slope we have the following units: 1:Ratio, Ratio:10, etc. i would like to have the unit with Ratio:1.

                  Not possible as these are built-in options and are not editable.

                  Curious where in the world this is standard?

                  Also, consider starting a new thread next time rather than adding onto another when the issue isn’t directly related to the ongoing conversation.
