    Re-tagging Doors

    Hi,

    Is there a way to re-tag doors so that one can number them in sequence, rather than manually editing each one?

    In other words, is there a way to change the numbering of the doors to something other than the sequence in which they were placed and thus automatically tagged (numbered) without manually editing the number for each door?

    Or is this just very wishful thinking? And who ever places the doors in the model in the exact order you want them numbered later?

    hi you could look at using the Revit DBLink and editing using Access - also i think there maybe an app on RevitApp Store

      Hi James,

      The app is for room numbering and looks like it works when you insert a room number. Something similary for doors (or windows for that matter) would be useful, but does not accomplish what I was looking for. I probably need to investigate writing a macro to achieve what I want to do, but was hoping perhaps somebody had tried to do the same things already ...

        i would be interested if you did write a macro as at the moment im doing the same sort of thing but with furniture shelving.

        but im having to export to a database and renumber as i have over 600 shelves!

          Room renumbering tool works for doors too.
          Have you looked at the ADN plugin?

            If you're on subscription you can download and use the Autodesk Revit Extensions. One particular (and IMO very easy to use but powerfull) add-in is Element Positioning. It allows you to rename the mark of (almost) any family in the way you want. Renumbers within seconds!

              the guys at Kiwicodes have the best element Renumber tool by far. Its still one of my favourite addins, and it is free. Here is a link
