    Tagging Open Ceilings

Is there a good way to tag an open ceiling area (exposed structure above) other than making a dummy tag with a text object in it?

Never mind. Found a good post on AUGI.

There were several ideas in that thread... which did you go with - and why?

We use ceilings for soffits, and a surface pattern override for exposed floors & roofs in RCP that we legend (with a filled region) "Unfinished" in our RCPs.

I made a gimpy floor tag that has a text object in it that just says "open". It looks just like the ceiling tag so for the moment it will work. I did it mostly so I could tag directly and not have to worry about missing something. We are just starting CD so I've got some time to adjust.

I'll think about it some more over the course of the project and see what I can come up with that is a little more elegant.

The filter method works best for us...we don't schedule our ceilings...but if we did I would just filter out the type anyway.

Why tag something thats not there. I just put a note on my ceiling plans, and the interior elevations and sections show the rest.

Doh...yeah...we filter out the ceilings because of the lighting..."Open Ceiling" is just text...

I also have got one more problem with tagging.
This time is ceiling tagging. There is no ceiling tagging when i enter into Tag All comand.
There are several tagging options such as Room tagging ... , but no ceiling tagging.
So i have created ceilings but they are not tagged and not squared.

Sounds like you need to Load a Ceiling Tag. Annotations>Loaded tags.
