    Unruly Floor

    Please help!

My floor continues to disobey me!

    Things I have tried:
I have looked at everything from resaving my texture maps to ensuring my downlights were perpendicular to the floor.
I have unchecked Bump Texture altogether!
I have also alternated the material from the structure layer of the floor to a finish layer.

I duplicated a property set from one of the Tile Materials, inserted my own image and BMP map. My scene is lit with sun and artificial lights and I have tried turning each off alternately. It is supposed to be 48"x48" Terrazo with a thin metal separator.
It is supposed to look like this:

    But looks like this:

    Or this:

What size do you have the BMP set to? It looks like it's huge in the scene. You sure you didn't set it to 48' x 48' by mistake?

I actaully tried to invert the BMP at first but these renders I toned it down so that it was barely visible, much like the strip in the picture. The texture map itself I tried to make as simple as possible, 4 squares.

Click on the bitmap you created in the material editor. Then, under Transforms, go down to scale. What's it set to?

8'x8', do you think that is the issue?

Well, it looks to me like that pattern is huge and way spread out. Try cutting it to 2x2 and see what it looks like.

Actually, it's something else. It doesn't even look like the terrazo pattern. It looks like wood to me. Are you sure you have the correct bmp in the material, or the correct material assigned to the element? I just did a quick render using the jpg's you posted, and although I don't have the squares in it, the pattern looks like terrazo.

                  8' x 8' is 96" x 96"....try 4'x4'...

Also click on both the Jpg for Ceramic image and the relief pattern image and make sure they are the same size. Then go to the Graphics tab and make sure your Surface Pattern lines up with your image map using Texture Alignment. If it looks too big or too small then modify your image maps accordingly.

Maybe screen grabs of all the various settings would help...
